To update Magnolia CMS:

1. Stop your application server.
2. Unpack the bundle corresponding to the version of Magnolia to which you're upgrading.
3. Replace all jars found JARs under the WEB-INF/lib directory of your Magnolia instance(s) by instances with the new ones JARs found in the bundle you just unpacked. Make sure you remove any module Remove any modules you had previously removed from your instance(s) and re-instances and add any extra module you might have added as well.
4. Optionally, you might want to delete all the Optional: Delete all indexes to give them a little boost: delete . Delete the index folder under each workspace directory: repositories/magnolia/workspaces/config<workspace>/index, repositories/magnolia/workspaces/website/index, and so on. Indexes will get are recreated on startup, which might take a while , depending on the size of your repository.
5. If you customized any of the  magnolia.properties files, please compare the changes you made with the new corresponding file. New properties might have been added , and some might have been removed. This will usually be specified in the release notes of the version you 're are installing.
6. Double check the release notes of the version you 're are installing for any additional stepsteps.
7. Restart your application server.
8. Using your browser, go to your Magnolia instance(s) and follow the instructions given by the install/update wizard.instances and run the Web update.
