h1. Welcome to the Magnolia Community Wiki!

This wiki is a community effort. This means that you are allowed to change anything you see, add comments or add new pages. That said, we do have some....

h2. Ground rules

h3. License and Copyright
Please make sure you read and understand [License and Copyright] before you contribute.

h3. Sign up
To edit content, you should login using your [Jira|http://jira.magnolia-cms.com] account information. Go here to [register|http://jira.magnolia-cms.com/secure/Signup!default.jspa].

h3. What should you write about?

Well, anything technical related to Magnolia. This includes scripts, templates, installation instructions, and anything else that might prove useful for someone else.

This is a place to share knowledge and ideas, not to ask questions. Please use the [user mailing list|http://documentation.magnolia-cms.com/stay-updated.html] if you have questions about Magnolia. Questions about specific topics are of course welcome in the comments of the specific page.

h3. Search, then add new content
If you are about to add a page, good practice is to check to see if the page (or a similar page) already exists. Use the search option in the top right corner of the page. When you are sure that the topic has not been covered off, feel free to add a page or comment.

Remember:

* Duplication of information in different locations across the wiki can lead to confusion; not to mention difficulties in keeping information up to date.
* Repeating things in different places on the wiki makes it hard to know what is correct; furthermore information might end up being updated in one location and not in the other.
* Multiple instances of very similar content stored on different pages on the wiki makes it hard to ensure consistency of content and to keep track of things.

h3. Use existing categories!
We have grouped this wiki space into the following top level categories:
{children}
{note}Whenever you add a a page, please do so *below these top level pages*. First select your preferred parent page and then add a child page there. You can set the parent page on any page in the edit dialog, right below the page title (click on the small EDIT button after the Location path)

h2. Where do I start?

[Starting out with Magnolia CMS] is the best place to begin if this is your first time here. This is also where you can learn *how to register* for this wiki. Also, do check out the [official Magnolia documentation site|http://documentation.magnolia-cms.com]. This provides search across all Magnolia web assets, including this wiki. Developers might wish to visit the [DEV|HOME] space, which is also frequented by knowledgeable Magnolia bloggers.
